The Harold - Bottomless 54mm Breville Portafilter

Aesthetically, this is a major upgrade to my Breville espresso machine. You’ll have to experiment with grind size and weight to dial it in just right. In the beginning stages, there was some messy spurting.

The Harold 54 Portafilter is great. Sleek design, handle is solid and feels good in hand. I like the slightly down angle of the handle too. However, it is not a universal fit for my machine. I have an entry level off brand espresso machine by Cavdle. I found it on Amazon and it gets great reviews but it is not widely known. I am looking to upgrade the portafilter but since it’s not a big box brand, not many options. I could have kept the Harold and ground down the filter frame to fit but that is a lot of work to put on a $90 frame. Not worth the effort. SAI is an easy company to work with and customer service was great.

Bought this as an upgrade for my Breville Bambino portafilter. The looks and fit are great for the Bambino. The basket with this portafilter makes some outstanding espresso. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a more aesthetic and functional portafilter than what comes with the Breville machines.
