Ogden Valley, Utah
125 years growing
Some things are worth keeping. This maple was one of them.
For approximately 125 years, it grew in Utah’s Ogden Valley. When the tree came down, an arborist recognized something extraordinary in its size and age. He saved the timber, hoping one day to make something worthy of it. It was far too special to become firewood.

40+ years later
Four decades waiting
For more than four decades, the wood remained on the arborist’s family lot. A few years ago, it found its way to our workshop, where careful drying and conditioning prepared it for its next chapter.
Natural spalting traces its own patterns through the wood. Each piece carries a different arrangement of lines and color, something to notice as your hand returns to it.

Today
Now, that chapter belongs in your hands
Our latest Heritage Hardwood tools bring this remarkable spalted maple into your daily coffee ritual. Each piece carries its own intricate markings, variations in grain, and natural character. No two are quite alike.
Something beautiful to hold, useful every day, and rich with a story that began long before yours.
