G70 Pourover Coffee Vessel

There are a couple factors that distinguish this from the standard v60. Steeper angle which makes for a more vertical brew column. The thicker, Chemex-esque filter papers which remove more fines and oils. I’ve been getting some good coffee out of this brewer using a standard 4:6 method (20g medium/course grind with 5x60g pours, every 40 seconds).

I always make myself an afternoon coffee at work and this has become my go to office brewer. Aside from the quality of the cups, the all-in-one design make it easy to handle and take to the kitchenette across the building for rinsing. If there was one complaint, it’s that the neck is so narrow that it’s tricky to wash the inside of the G70, but I suppose that’s unavoidable considering the angle of the brewer and the fact that it’s far smaller than a Chemex.

Purchased G70 vessel, filter paper and hook neck pitcher. It’s ideal for a single large cup or two small. The 16:1 standard ratio yields a rich, full bodied coffee. Just as I like. Good quality product. Prompt delivery. Fair price.
