The BT Wedge Coffee Distribution Tool.

Simply the best distributor available.

Bachmann Accu Drive markings are now included with all tools.

The BT Wedge Coffee Distribution Tool will greatly improve quality and consistency for your espresso service.

It’s proprietary wedge shape evenly distributes ground coffee in your portafilter basket without prematurely compressing it.

The high polish base eliminates coffee retention to the tool.

Made from precision machined stainless steel and inlaid with your choice of American hardwoods, or a fully coated industrial grade teflon.

Due to the natural variation in wood, each timber piece will have a varied tone and grain pattern. Each one truly unique.

The industrial grade teflon coated tools are non-wetting, naturally oleophobic and hydrophobic; meaning: the teflon naturally repels grime, making cleanup a breeze, keeping oils, grounds, and fingerprints off your tools for a timeless durability.

We are proud to be in collaboration with Mr. Jeon to build what we believe is simply the best coffee distributor on the market.

Full Origin Story of the BT Coffee Distribution Tool

The BT Distributor Wedge was originally designed by Mr. Il Seon Jeon of Seoul Korea.

Mr. Jeon is the owner operator of the progressive Gabae Mihon coffee bar in Seoul. He was an early admirer of the well known OCD tool and the core concepts behind it. However, he had ideas to push the concept further.

Mr. Jeon was focused on two elements for improvement.

1. Minimize the pre-tamping of the coffee prior to proper ground distribution.

2. Eliminate ground retention on the distributor tool itself.

In February 2016, Mr. Jeon conceived the idea of the wedge shape distribution tool.

He built and refined prototypes and soon found the high polish wedge shape to work remarkably well. He sent prototypes to Australia for friends and critics to evaluate.

Needing to compete with the tools already on the market that had copied his design, he decided that he would introduce a version of the wedge shape distribution tool that was superior in design and build quality to all models currently available. This is when Mr. Jeon contacted Saint Anthony Industries. He proposed that SAI take his proprietary wedge shape design and incorporate our design aesthetic and material aesthetic to make a distribution tool that is second to none. After thoroughly testing the wedge shape design, we found it to be a highly effective tool and were honored to partner with Mr. Jeon.

We are proud to be in collaboration with Mr. Jeon to build what we believe is simply the best coffee distributor on the market.

I am a repeat customer of St Anthony Industries, but this is not my favorite purchase. I was expecting the wood to have similar density and grain, and finish, to my tamp station, but it doesn't. The woodwork is sloppy; it looks more grey than brown, and there isn't much of it. As far as feel, it is significantly inferior to the old OCD that I was hoping to replace - and my OCD has been dropped and doesn't even spin as well as it used to - yet it still spins more smoothly than this tool.

The functional side of tool itself works well and is fit for purpose. The wedge is a great design. The adjustment system is clear and easy to use. But, a lot of competitors offer that. What I was really hoping for, in paying more for this than for a comparable entry-level competitor from Amazon, was better feel, and, it does not live up to expectations. There are devices for 1/2 to 1/4 the cost that will do the same job, as well, or better. I regret this purchase. However, this experience will not keep me from shopping with St. Anthony in the future. I'm just going to have to be a bit more careful in my expectations.

Could be better for the price

As the diameter is only 58.3mm there is a small gap between the tool and the filter basket which leads to a build up of ground coffee on the wall of the basket and on the tool. Also small part of metal in the upper part of the tool seems to have broken off and was repaird but still clearly visible, not what I expected for the price.

Poor quality control

It operates very well, but i was sent 3 different ones that were cosmetically flawed, and then gave up.

It’s a beautiful thing

Superb. Beautifully engineered. Feels lovely in hand. Works extremely well. My shots are much more consistent.

BT Wedge is great.

Wedge is great. I also got the matching tamper. Some tampers and wedges on Amazom were kind of loose and left coffee along the edges and walls. This fit my Breville 54 perfectly. If you appreciate good craftsmanship over a bargain from say…….China. Then This is the wedge and tamper to get.
